Wichita Falls District Engineer

David Rohmer, P.E., is the district engineer for TxDOT's Wichita Falls District.

The district comprises nine counties: Archer, Baylor, Clay, Cooke, Montague, Throckmorton, Wichita, Wilbarger, and Young.

Rohmer attended Texas A&M University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1996. While in college he began his TxDOT career as a summer employee in the Fort Worth District BRINSAP office. After graduating A&M, Rohmer went to work for TxDOT in the Gainesville Area Office as an Engineering Assistant designing and inspecting construction projects. He was named the Wichita Falls District Traffic Engineer in 2006. While in this position he was responsible for standing up the district’s first serious injury and fatal crash review team.

In 2012, Rohmer was hired as the Wichita Falls Area Engineer, overseeing maintenance and construction activities in Clay, Wichita, and Wilbarger Counties. In December of 2020 he moved into his current role as Wichita Falls Director of Maintenance, overseeing the maintenance program and emergency response operations for the 9-county district. In this position he helped the district rebuild in-house teams to perform bridge repairs and restart the in-house seal coat program.
