El Paso District west area project, maintenance closures

Artcraft Project

Monday, April 6 - Friday, April 10

9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (as needed)

  • SH-178 (Artcraft) east and westbound between New Mexico State Line and Doniphan alternate lane closures

Crews will be working on illumination and wall installations.

  • North Desert between Helen of Troy and Cheddars Restaurant alternate lane closures
  • South Desert between Charlie Clark Nissan and Blue Sky alternate lane closures

Crews will be loading and unloading material and equipment.

  • I-10 west and eastbound between Redd and Transmountain left lane closed

Crews will be working on median columns steel and erecting formwork.

Monday, April 6 – Tuesday, April 7

9 p.m. – 6 a.m. (Night) (As needed)

  • North Desert between Artcraft/Paseo del Norte and Transmountain full closure

Crews will be moving portable concrete traffic barrier.

Continuous Closure Until further notice 24/7

Monday, March 9 - End of Aug. 2026 (Approx. five months)

  • I-10 westbound exit ramp to Transmountain closed

Crews will be working on various constructions.

Borderland Expressway Phase 2 Project

Tuesday, April 7 – Friday, April 10

Daily, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • US-54 east and westbound between Mesquite Hills and McCombs alternate lane closures
  • Mesquite Hills reduced to one lane between US-54 and Red Man. Flaggers will be on-site directing traffic as needed for haul trucks crossing Mesquite Hills
  • Flaggers will be on site directing traffic as needed for haul trucks crossing at McCombs and Stan Roberts.

Crews will be transporting earth embankment into the project.

Upcoming Closure

Beginning at 4 a.m., Saturday, April 11 – 12 p.m. Sunday, April 12 (32 Hour Closure)

  • Martin Luther King (FM-3255) north and southbound between Loma Real Ave. and O’Hara Road (NM-404) closed

Local traffic will be allowed to access businesses and residences between O-Hara Road and the Texas/New Mexico State Line

Detour: Traffic will use NM-404, I-10, Loop 375 (Woodrow Bean/Transmountain), and US-54.

  • Stan Roberts Ave. (FM-2529) east and westbound between McCombs St. and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (FM-3255).

Access to EPEC Newman Power Plant will be available via McCombs and Stan Roberts intersection.

Crews will be working on a traffic switch to allow for construction of Martin Luther King new road configuration.

Safety Lighting on Mesa (SH-20) and Dyer St. (BU-54) Project

Monday, April 6 – Friday, April 10

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • SH-20 (Mesa) west and eastbound at Remcon intersection right lane closed
  • SH-20 (Mesa) west and eastbound at Belvidere intersection right lane closed
  • SH-20 (Mesa) west and eastbound at Sunland Park intersection right lane closed

Crews will be working on lighting improvements.

Runaway Truck Ramp Project

Monday, April 6 - Friday, April 10

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Loop 375 (Transmountain) east and westbound between Northwestern and I-10 left lane closed

Crews will be installing arrest system.

Bridge Replacement at Alps Dr., Hollings St., and Concepcion St. Project

Continuous Closure Until Further Notice 24/7

  • Concepcion between Alameda and Paisano east and westbound closed
  • Alps between Marie Tobin and Raymond Telles closed
  • Hollings between Raymond Telles and Hondo Pass closed

Detour: Please follow and proceed with detours in the area.

Crews will be working on culvert and bridge rehabilitation.

ITS on Bridge of the Americas and Zaragoza Port of Entry

Monday, April 6 - Friday, April 10

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

  • Gateway North between East Paisano and Rivera right lane closed

Crews will be working on service pole.

  • Loop 375 (Border Highway) eastbound between San Marcial and Exit 58 to extend to Ramp W left shoulder and lane closed

Crews will be working on installation of dynamic message system/message board (DMS) 8 structure and electrical conductors.

  • Loop 375 (Border Highway) between Fonseca and Val Verde right shoulder closed

Crews will be working on DMS 11, Sign 15, and installation of conduit.

  • West Paisano between Boone and Gateway North right lane closed

Crews will be working on ground box aprons.

  • East Paisano between San Antonio and Gateway North right lane closed

Crews will be working on electrical conductors and CCTV 3 install structure.

Friday, April 10

9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Ramp N connecting Loop 375 East to US-54 North closed

Crews will be working on DMS 8 structure.

  • Loop 375 eastbound between San Marcial and Exit 58 to extend to Ramp W left shoulder and lane closed

Crews will be working on installation of DMS 8 structure.

  • SH-20 (Main St/Doniphan) between Texas/New Mexico Stateline and Borderland north and southbound mobile operations.
  • SH-20 (Alameda) between Passmore and RM-1110 east and westbound mobile operations.

Sunday, April 5 – Saturday, April 11

9 p. m. – 5 a.m. (Night)

  • SH-20 (Doniphan) between North Mesa and Osborne north and southbound mobile operations.
  • FM-659 (Zaragoza) between FM-76 (North Loop) and US-62/180 (Montana) north and southbound mobile operations.

Crews will be retracing pavement markings.

Traffic Signal Improvements – Loop 478 at Yandell and Montana at Trowbridge

Monday, April 6 – Friday, April 10

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

  • Yandell between N Grama and Stevens all directions right lane closed
  • Copia between Wyoming and Tularosa all directions right lane closed

Crews will be installing bores of drilled shafts for traffic signals and PED holes.

  • I-10 eastbound between Missouri and Airway alternate lane closures

  • Loop 375 (Transmountain) eastbound between Main Gap and Mile Marker 19 right lane closed

  • Gateway North between Cassidy and Fred Wilson right lane closed

Thursday, April 9

  • SH-20 (Doniphan) between Central and Vinton right lane closed

Friday, April 10

  • Loop 375 (Border Highway) westbound at Yarbrough entrance ramp complete closure

Maintenance

  • Ramp N connecting Loop 375 East to US-54 North ramp closed

Crews will be working on bridge joints.

  • I-10 westbound between Buena Vista and Sunland Park right lane closed
  • North Desert between Medano and Helen of Troy right lane closed

Crews will be working on shoulder.

Sunday, April 12

4 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • I-10 east between Paisano and Trowbridge three right lanes closed
  • Raynolds entrance ramp closed
  • Geronimo exit ramp closed

Crews will be working on the bridge joints.

Please follow the detour signs in place on all projects. All work is dependent upon weather conditions.
