Bridge beam operations scheduled for Loop 88
Indiana Avenue intersection to be closed to overnight traffic
LUBBOCK – Starting Tuesday, April 1, Indiana Avenue, at Loop 88, will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. to allow crews to safely place the beams for the new bridge. Both north-and southbound traffic will be detoured around the area.
The beam hanging operations will run nightly throughout the week. The intersection will be open during the daytime.
Crews will also continue work to place the bridge beams at the Slide Road intersection tonight, March 31. Traffic will be detoured around the work zone from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Tuesday.
All work will take place weather permitting and is part of a $154.8 million project to convert FM 1585 from a rural, two-lane roadway into Loop 88, a six-lane freeway with frontage roads, bridges, and ramps.
