Project calls for temporary traffic changes at US 385 intersection

LEVELLAND – Work to make improvements to US 385 in Levelland continues next week at the Clubview Drive and FM 300 (Avenue H) intersection.

Starting Monday, April 7, crews will begin work to remove the old roadway pavement at the intersection and replace it with a new asphalt surface. Drivers should expect a change in the traffic pattern during the work.

“Drivers are asked to stay alert and follow the temporary traffic changes that will limit the movement of traffic at the intersection in all directions to make right turns only,” said Neil Welch, P.E., TxDOT Littlefield Area Engineer. “Traffic will still be able to make its way through the intersection in a movement that looks very much like a traffic circle or roundabout.”

Drivers should anticipate delays and are asked to stay alert and slow down as they approach the work zone. Weather permitting, the operations expected three days to complete. The project’s overall completion date is summer 2025.
