SH 130 at Gattis School Road

Additionally, TxDOT is providing an in-person option for individuals who would like to participate in person instead of online. The in-person option will be held in an open house format. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and or consultants, and leave written comments. The proposed project would improve safety and traffic operations at the SH 130 and Gattis School Road (CR 138) intersection by converting the existing conventional overpass to a diverging diamond interchange (DDI), while maintaining and widening the existing Gattis School Road bridge rather than completely reconstructing it.

Key elements of the proposed improvements include:

• Widen the Gattis School Road bridge over SH 130 and convert the interchange to a DDI.
• Add new bypass lanes on SH 130.
• Reconstruct SH 130 entrance and exit ramps.

The project is being coordinated with Williamson County’s East Wilco Highway / CR 138 corridor improvements and TxDOT’s separate SH 130 mainlane widening project, to ensure logical sequencing of construction and consistent operations at the Gattis School Road/SH 130 interchange.

The project is located in Williamson County within and near the City of Round Rock, serving nearby residential neighborhoods, commercial areas (including medical offices and retail centers), and regional traffic traveling between SH 130 and CR 138/East Wilco Highway.

The estimated construction cost is approximately $22 million. Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2027, following environmental clearance and completion of final design, and is being coordinated with the SH 130 mainlane widening project schedule.

The project length is approximately 2 miles along Gattis School Road across SH 130 and along the SH 130 frontage roads. The existing bridge carries multiple lanes in each direction; the proposed DDI configuration would maintain existing travel lanes while adding auxiliary and bypass lanes and associated ramps to improve operations.

Any environmental documentation or studies, any maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at TxDOT Austin District, 7901 N. I-35, Austin, TX, United States, 78753. Project materials will also be available in hard copy form for review at the in-person option.

The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you.
