Open House - SH 6 and FM 2 Intersection

Purpose:

TxDOT will conduct an open house to gather public input on the proposed improvements to the SH 6 and FM 2 intersection in Navasota, Grimes County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so citizens may come and go at their convenience and staff will be available to answer questions.

Description:

TxDOT is developing plans to improve safety at the intersection of SH 6 with FM 2 in Grimes County. The project would remove the current standard crossover with a grade-separated interchange. A grade-separated interchange is commonly referred to as an underpass or overpass. This design would no longer allow traffic to directly enter the high-speed intersection without using an on/off ramp to merge into traffic.

Although right of way and displacements are potentially required, the specific amount is not yet known.

Comments may be made at the meeting or in writing by Feb. 20, 2017.
