Purpose | TxDOT is proposing to construct a new relief route on the east side of the Town of Pecos City in Reeves County, Texas, from US 285 north of Pecos to US 285 south of Pecos. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting a virtual public hearing on the proposed project with an in-person option. |
Virtual details | The virtual hearing will consist of a pre-recorded presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted online Tuesday, April 8, 2025, by 5 p.m., and will remain online for at least 15 days. To view the virtual public hearing, visit this webpage on the date and time indicated above. You may also call 432-498-4645 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions and access project materials during the project development process. |
In-person details | Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. |
Descripton | The proposed relief route would generally consist of a new four-lane divided highway, including two mainlanes and a one-way frontage road in each direction, separated by a grassy median. The project would also include new interchanges at major intersections and shared-use paths. The overall project length would be approximately 10 miles. The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace one residence and three non-residential structures. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling 432-498-4645. Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are available online at www.txdot.gov, keyword search: Pecos East Relief Route. These materials will also be available in hard copy form for review at the in-person option. |

If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs.
