FM 1938 (Davis Boulevard) raised median

Project background

TxDOT is proposing improvement to FM 1938 (Davis Boulevard) from FM 1709 (Southlake Boulevard) to Emerald Hills Way in Tarrant County, Texas.

Proposed improvements

The proposed project would convert the two-way left turn lane into a 14-foot-wide raised median. At intersections with median breaks, the median would be reduced to two-foot-wide and a 12-foot-wide left turn lane would be provided. Lane configuration would not change and would still provide three 11.5-foot-wide travel lanes in each direction. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve safety, connectivity and mobility by accommodating traffic growth and controlling turning movements to reduce crashes.

Project goals

  • Increasing traffic volumes
  • Increased congestion
