The 2026 Texas Innovation Invitational showcased the latest breakthrough technologies shaping the next era of mobility. Texas strengthened its position as a national leader in infrastructure innovation, presenting forward‑looking solutions designed to address the state’s transportation challenges.
From June 15–17, the City of Allen hosted public officials, technology experts, planners, and agency leaders for an immersive three‑day event presented by the Texas Innovation Alliance (TIA) and TxDOT. Through interactive sessions, panel discussions, project pitches, a technology showcase, and poster session, attendees examined cutting‑edge solutions and collaborated to advance safety and mobility across Texas.
Event highlights
Exhibitors showcased the latest innovations across a range of sectors, including AI-powered solutions, unmanned aircraft systems, and advanced technologies.
The event included panel discussions and interactive breakout sessions with experts in transportation innovation from TxDOT, universities, private industry and public-sector organizations.
TxDOT innovators displayed posters featuring their proven, real‑world solutions that deliver safer roads, smarter mobility, and greater efficiency for Texas travelers.
Innovation awards
The Texas Innovation Alliance recognized an industry innovator for outstanding transportation-related work alongside a state agency or local government.
TxDOT staff recognized a fellow employee who turned their ideas into solutions and implemented innovative projects at TxDOT.
Local government teams pitch regional mobility solutions in a competition for the Smart Transportation and Advanced Roadway (STAR) Award.
