The virtual public meeting meeting will be posted to this webpage Monday, April 7, at 2 p.m. and will remain available for viewing through the end of the comment period. It will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation including audio and visual components. The public is also encouraged to visit the social engagement map to provide location-specific comments on the I-27 Feasibility Study from Amarillo to Dumas. The virtual option is not a live broadcast event and the public may view the presentation at their convenience.

If you do not have internet access, you may call 806-356-3200 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions and access study materials during the project development process.

TxDOT is hosting two in-person public meetings in different locations throughout the study area to provide information and gather public input on the I-27 Feasibility Study from Amarillo to Dumas:

Purpose This study builds upon the Ports-to-Plains Corridor Interstate Feasibility Study (Ports-to-Plains Feasibility Study), which was required by House Bill 1079 and evaluated improvements that extend I-27 and upgrade the entire corridor to interstate standards. The purpose of this meeting is to share updates on the I-27 Feasibility Study from Amarillo to Dumas following the December 2024 public meetings and offer the opportunity to engage with the study team and share comments. TxDOT is inviting public input on the feasibility study's development and the proposed concepts for upgrading US 87/US 287 to interstate standards, allowing participants to share valuable insights about their communities.
Description TxDOT’s Amarillo District is conducting a feasibility study to evaluate the potential upgrade of US 87/US 287 to interstate standards (future I-27) from Amarillo to Dumas, covering US 87/US 287 in Randall, Potter and Moore counties from SL 335 in Amarillo to a logical terminus north of Dumas at US 287. In alignment with the Ports-to-Plains Corridor Interstate Feasibility Study, this study will analyze current and future transportation, safety, and mobility needs along the US 87/US 287 corridor, aiming to identify feasible concepts for upgrading the route to interstate standards.

The public comment period is open from April 7 – 23, 2025. All comments must be received or postmarked by Wednesday, April 23, 2025, to be included in the official record of the public meeting.
