I-10 to US 290/SH 6

Overview

The 36A North Project is proposed as a new highway facility beginning at Interstate Highway (I)-10 and extending to U.S. Highway (US)290/State Highway (SH) 6. The proposed facility would be approximately 28 miles in length and would serve primarily Waller County.

Proposed improvements

The new facility would include:

  • Two main lanes in each direction separated by a grassy median
  • Two frontage road lanes in each direction
  • Dedicated pedestrian and bicycle accommodations  
  • Drainage elements

All proposed improvements would be within a variable right-of-way (ROW) width.

Partners

Various resource agencies and tribes will be invited to be cooperating or participating partners for the EIS process. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers is anticipated to be a cooperating agency. As this coordination continues, other agencies will be listed as cooperating or participating.
