FM 1994 south of Needville to I-10

Overview

The 36A South Project is proposed as a new highway facility from Farm to Market (FM) Road 1994 south of Needville, Texas to Interstate Highway (I) 10 west of Katy, Texas. The proposed facility would be approximately 41 miles in length and would serve Fort Bend and southern Waller counties.

Proposed improvements

The new facility would include:

  • Two main lanes in each direction separated by a grassy median
  • Two frontage road lanes in each direction
  • Dedicated pedestrian and bicycle accommodations  
  • Drainage elements

All proposed improvements would be within a variable right-of-way (ROW) width.

Partners

Various resource agencies and tribes will be invited to be cooperating or participating partners for the EIS process. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers is anticipated to be a cooperating agency. As this coordination continues, other agencies will be listed as cooperating or participating.
