Overview
Package 1 Drainage Improvements along St. Emanuel street to Buffalo Bayou (3b-1)
- Construction of drainage outfall to Buffalo Bayou (including drainage box culverts and detention pond), and reconstruction of St. Emanuel St.
- Contract Awarded June 2024
- Project Cost: $121.8 million
- Constrctor: Haroer Brothers COnstruction
- Construction is anticipated to start October 2024.
- Anticipate completion in 2027
- Active public engagement and will continue through construction completion.

Landscaping plan
- Landscape architects will coordinate with stakeholders on final landscape design
- Working with City of Houston on tree removal and mitigation permit
- Landscape will be a separate contract, and will follow the roadway and drainage construction
- TIRZ preferred tree mitigation areas are highlighted in green, TxDOT will investigate tree location feasibilityÂ
- Tree removal follows utility relocation, not construction
- Tree removal will be phasedÂ
